From a small studio in Hai Phong, we are building a 24/7 English tutor that any learner in Vietnam can afford, on any device, in any province.
Our story
EZTalking was founded in 2024 by a group of educators and engineers who shared a frustration: in Vietnam, real English fluency is still a privilege. A student in Ho Chi Minh City can attend an international school, hire a private foreign tutor, and practise with native speakers in coffee shops. A student of equal talent in a coastal province, a Mekong delta town, or a mountainous district has none of those options.
When the latest generation of speech recognition and large language models became available, we saw a once-in-a-decade opportunity. For the first time, an AI tutor could listen to a Vietnamese learner pronounce English, recognise the difference between a long and short vowel, and respond in a way that is patient, kind, and never runs out of time. We believed that if we packaged this technology with a curriculum designed for Vietnamese learners — tackling the specific difficulties Vietnamese speakers face, from consonant clusters to sentence-final consonants to intonation — we could compress years of conventional learning into months.
We launched our closed beta in late 2024 with 200 learners in Hai Phong and Hanoi. The first version was rough, but the feedback was unambiguous: learners wanted more speaking time, more personalised feedback, and a way to track their progress over weeks, not just within a single lesson. We rebuilt the platform around those three requests and opened public beta in 2025. Today, EZTalking is used by learners in Vietnam, Taiwan, the United States, and beyond, and we are working on our next chapter: internationalisation across Southeast Asia and deeper personalisation through long-term memory of each learner's strengths and weaknesses.
What we value
Local-first
We design for Vietnamese learners first. Our curriculum, our feedback, our examples, and our tone are all built around the way Vietnamese speakers actually learn English — not a translated version of an American textbook.
AI done responsibly
We use AI to amplify teachers, not to replace them. Every pronunciation score is paired with a human-readable explanation, and we never sell or share your voice data. We follow GDPR, Vietnam's PDPD, and Taiwan's PDPA.
Evidence over hype
If a feature doesn't measurably improve learning outcomes, we cut it. We publish our methodology and we let independent reviewers audit our claims. Marketing language is no substitute for a learner's progress report.
Our team
We are a small, multidisciplinary team based in Hai Phong, Vietnam, with colleagues in Ho Chi Minh City and Taipei. Our founding team includes former English-language teachers, applied linguists, machine-learning engineers from the speech-AI community, and product designers who have shipped consumer apps at scale. We hire slowly and we hire for craft.
